Who We Are

Computer and Communication Systems Laboratory (CCSL) was founded in 1999 as a research and educational unit in the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering of the University of the Aegean, Greece. The current research and teaching activity of the CCSL members is well balanced between theory and practice and covers a wide range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) fields. During the past years, the members of the group have been involved in several European and National funded projects and have acquired considerable experience and knowledge. Based on this knowledge, CCSL is able to offer innovative solutions in the development and implementation of various components of the ICT infrastructure, which are required for the efficient delivery of future digital services.

Our approach to advancing knowledge

The strategy of CCSL is well-connected with the latest technological developments in wireless and mobile telecommunications, free space and fiber based optical communications, communications networks, digital circuits and systems design, as well as internet and global web technologies. More specifically, CCSL’s strategy includes the exploitation of the wireless networks architectures and web technologies for the elaboration of innovative results and the integration of modern services, the design and development of transmission techniques, routing and applications, in the era of 5G networks, as well as the design of efficient digital hardware systems for fast signal and image processing.
